MY DEAR FRIEND DAVID

My dear friend David enters my studio and surveys my work, finished, about to be finished, and in the beginning phase, sprewn across the work tables, walls and floor. He comments on the order beneath this disorder and how it is connected to my compulsion to create. Creativity is an obligation to broadcast one's sensibilities. I am compelled to share my vision of finding order and joy in the the commonplace. Another friend has commented that beneath my disorder exists an orderly world that I attempt to share with viewers. Maybe the world itself is disorder and chaos, and by working I try to set a frame of order and harmony upon it. Yes insights are interesting, but mainly I work these themes over and over again until it feels right.
